Refund policy

Last updated 20 May 2026

Contributions to Ars Medica are voluntary and are made in support of the project rather than in exchange for goods or services. Because of that, contributions are generally non-refundable — with the exceptions below.

Charges made in error

If you contributed by mistake, in the wrong amount, or were charged more than you intended, email info@arsmedicaarchive.org within thirty days of the charge with the order number and a short note explaining what happened. We will refund the full amount to the original payment method.

Refunds typically appear on your statement within five to ten business days, depending on your bank.

Duplicate or fraudulent charges

If you see two charges for what should have been a single contribution, or a charge you do not recognise, write to us at info@arsmedicaarchive.org and we will investigate. Duplicate charges are refunded in full. If we suspect fraud we may also recommend you notify your card issuer.

Chargebacks

We prefer to handle refund requests directly, since it is faster for both sides and avoids fees we'd otherwise pass on to the project. If you raise a chargeback through your bank without contacting us first, we will provide the bank with the contribution record and let them decide.
